We had a special visitor today! She taught us all about Sankranti!
The festival of Sankranki, which falls on January 14th, marks the end of a long winter and the beginning of spring. Sankranti is celebrated in India. An important part of the festival is flying kites.
We learned in India they dress up cows, a sacred animal, during celebrations.
We listened to Indian music and danced around the class.
They fly colorful kites during Sankranti.
